In May 2008, I will graduate from Sonoma Sate University, part of the California State University system, with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
Last summer, I participated in an internship with Pacific Swell Networks, a small Internet startup company. I was hired to finish old web development contracts and was added into a design team for a real estate company's website. For this project, a designer and I worked together with the company to design and create a website. I was also the sole developer on a Tennis Ladder website. I was able to implement a round-robin tournament style draw as well as a message board using php in tandem with mysql. Since it was a small startup, I was allowed to sit in on and contribute to product development and company planning meetings.
In my object oriented programming class at Sonoma State University, I used Java and the swing set to generate a children's graphic design program. This program uses polymorphism and inheritance to generate many different shapes and objects as well as user interfaces. In my database design class, I learned the theory of database design and was introduced to JSP and oracle sql.
Over my four years at Sonoma State University, I competed on the nationally ranked NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Team. With my experience on the team, I was able to develop as a team player and appreciate the benefits of hard work.
I believe my dedication, ability to work in a team environment, and desire to become a better programmer will be a great benefit to your company.
